Moorditj
Australian Indigenous Cultural Expressions

The cultural expressions of the Indigenous people of Australia are amongst the oldest forms of art in the world, stretching back for more than 60,000 years.

Moorditj - a Noongar word for "excellent" - explores nearly 300 artworks from 110 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, including Sally Morgan, Yothu Yindi, Neville T Bonner and the Bangarra Dance Theatre.

Inside the Moorditj CD-ROM

Let film, stage and TV personalities Justine Saunders and Aaron Pederson guide your journey as you discover the diversity of Indigenous craft, dance, literature, media, music, oral history, theatre and visual arts:

  • Interact with the artists and read their biographies
  • Listen to the music and stories
  • Learn about important issues that motivate the artists
  • Test your understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and culture
